U Sports Gaming Launches First Esports Tournament

U Sports Gaming has just announced the launch of a new esports competition, a Valorant Tournament. This will be the first esports competition organized by U Sports.

This announcement comes within a launch of the U Sports. They have also entered into a three-year-long partnership with CSL Esports, which is the largest college-level esports league in Canada.

CSL Esports and U Sports are collaborating on the Valorant Tournament. The preliminary round for the tournament will be launched on August 21st. The competition will be in a Swiss-style format, and players will be randomly matched with each other for matches.

On the second day of the tournament, only eight players will advance to the playoffs. Then the quarter-finals and the semi-finals will be single elimination matches. The final game will be in a three-match format.

U Sports Gaming and CSL esports both hope that this tournament will give a lot of exposure to esports in Canada. The Valorant Tournament will be part of the NACE Star League (National Association of College Esports). At least 14,500 students from more than 600 colleges are expected to participate in the league. Registration for the tournament will be open till the start of the league.

Chief Executive of CSL esports, Rob Johnson, has mentioned that there has already been a lot of excitement about the upcoming Valorant tournament in the student community. Valorant is a first-person shooter game that is very popular among e-sports enthusiasts.

The excitement for esports in Canada is obvious from the U Sports and CSL esports partnership, and more such collaborative efforts on a larger scale are expected in the future.
