The online poker sector is back in full force, and South Alberta is the latest region to return. The province is witnessing Summer Super Stack with huge turnouts for the events.
The series has been taking place at Deerfoot Inn and Casino for multiple years now. The event conducts four series every year, tying them with the seasons. The previous Super Stack event took place during February 2020 before the lockdown hit the industry.
The final tournament at the 2020 event was the 1,500 dollars Main Event with over 180,000 dollars worth of prize pool and 100 participants. After the province reopened in November 2010, Deerfoot Inn and Casino quickly gathered resources to conduct a Super Stack event.
It held a 1,100 dollars Main Event with 280 players showing up for 264,670 dollars worth of prizes. In addition, the overall events offered over 450,000 dollars in total prizes to players.
Unlike the event, players knew everything about the current Summer Super Stack. The huge player turnaround also shows how delighted the players are to participate in the tournament.
The first five events have already offered 375,000 dollars in prizes. Out of the amount, almost 230,000 dollars was part of the first multi-day event, the 500 dollars Megastack. Including the five events, the series still has several tournaments to offer.
Event 6 is a two-day event running on August 10th and 11th. With 100,000 dollars on offer, over 300 players showed up to participate in the event. The numbers are staggering, given these are mid-week events.
The 1,100 dollars Main Event will take place on the weekend, and the casino expects an even bigger turnout for the event. The Main Event can offer up to 300,000 dollars to players, taking the total prize tally over a whopping 800,000 dollars.
With the concurring excitement among the casinos and players, the series will most likely incur even greater numbers.
